The victim, who worked as a delivery driver for the popular U.S. food delivery platform DoorDash<strong>, <\/strong>was delivering food to customers at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NBC10 Philadelphia did not specify Mahfuzul Haque&#8217;s nationality or country of origin. However, several Bangladeshi community news outlets in the United States identified him as being of Bangladeshi origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of South Ethan Street at around 9:30 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, they found 43-year-old Mohammad Mahfuzul Haque lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said Mahfuzul&#8217;s vehicle was parked nearby with its engine still running, and a large DoorDash delivery bag was found inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at around 10:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief Inspector Small said investigators recovered two spent rifle shell casings just inches from where the victim&#8217;s body was found, indicating that he had been shot at close range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators believe the killing was targeted and premeditated. Three masked individuals dressed in black have been identified as suspects, although authorities have not yet released their images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police confirmed that the vehicle found with its engine running belonged to the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators also visited the address where Mahfuzul was reportedly delivering food. According to police, the residents told officers that no one at the location had placed a DoorDash order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A bag containing food was recovered about one block from the crime scene.
