Police have arrested two men accused of assaulting a businessman and forcing him to sign cheques and stamp papers by squeezing his testicles. The victim is Abdul Aziz Hawlader, Managing Director (MD) of the private real estate company Agrani (Abason) Housing Limited in Barishal.

The arrests were confirmed on Sunday (July 5) by Ashik Saeed, Commissioner of the Barishal Metropolitan Police.

The two suspects have been identified as Mostafizur Rahman Litu and Abul Kalam Azad.

The incident reportedly took place on the night of June 27 at an office on Sadar Road. According to the allegations, Abdul Aziz Hawlader—who is also the chairman of Bakla Developers Private Limited—was physically assaulted and tortured before being forced to sign stamp papers and cheques.

A video of the incident spread widely on social media on Saturday night. The victim has since filed a complaint with the court, seeking the arrest of everyone involved and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators.

Police Commissioner Ashik Saeed said that multiple teams from the Detective Branch (DB) and the Metropolitan Police had been working since Sunday morning to apprehend the suspects. They were arrested later in the day, and legal action will be taken following the investigation.
