Six parliamentary standing committees formed

Six parliamentary standing committees were constituted today during the day’s proceedings in the house.

Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam Moni, upon consent from Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman, placed the proposals to constitute all the committees separately and were passed by voice vote with Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair.

Parliamentary standing committee for Liberation War Affairs Ministry will be led by BNP MP elected from Cumilla-6 Md Manirul Haque Chowdhury while Industries Ministry by BNP MP elected from Cumilla-9 Md Abul Kalam and Foreign Affairs Ministry by BNP MP for Woman Reserve Seat- 27 Jahrat Adib Chowdhury, parliamentary standing committee for Commerce Ministry by BNP MP elected from Brahmanbaria- 3 Md. Khaled Hossain Mahboob, Water Resources Ministry by BNP MP elected from Rajshahi-3 Mohammad Shofiqul Haque Milon and Home Affairs Ministry will be chaired by BNP MP elected from Barishal-3 Zainul Abedin.
