The Bangladesh Ambulance Owners Welfare Association has announced an indefinite nationwide ambulance strike from 6 am on Wednesday (July 29) in response to five demands. The organization says the program will continue until the demands are met.
The organization’s general secretary, Badal Madabar, confirmed the matter on Tuesday (July 28) afternoon.
He said that this program has been announced to implement various demands raised for a long time. The strike will continue until the demands are met.
The association’s five-point demands include the implementation of commercial policies related to ambulances, ensuring designated parking facilities for ambulances in every government hospital, introducing a toll-free system for ambulances as per the High Court ruling, ensuring toll-free facilities for freezer vans and ambulances carrying corpses, and arranging for 24-hour fuel supply for ambulances.
The Bangladesh Ambulance Owners Welfare Association said that they have been forced to go on an indefinite nationwide strike due to the lack of effective initiatives to implement these demands.
