Storms with Winds Up to 80 km/h Forecast for 12 Districts

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that storms with wind speeds of up to 80 km/h may sweep across 12 regions of the country. The storms may be accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. In response, river ports in the affected areas have been advised to rehoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 2.

According to the inland river port forecast issued on Monday (6 July) for the period from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet may experience temporary squally winds from the south or southeast at speeds of 60–80 km/h, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. As a result, river ports in these areas have been instructed to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 2 once again.
